if you know me, you know that i am not a get there early type person when you have to be there at 7:45...i show up on time...but not early.
so this morning i was so excited because i was going to be early. had my car warmed up and ready to go by 7:10 (usually i'm pushing 7:25)
when i warm up my car i always roll my window down just a little so if my doors decide to lock (which they have before) i will still be able to get into my car.
i get in my car with the warm excitement of being early to work and what do you know my window decides to not roll up. alright, don't panic, Jesus i need you moment. i talk it over with the Lord for a second and i proceed to try to pull it up...nope. won't work. 20 minutes later, tears rolling down my face, i give up to the dumb window and tell the Lord i will take whatever lesson i need to get from this...i put on an extra jacket and start driving. the teacher i am subbing for called me to say that school was on a 2 hour delay so i didn't need to be there until 9:45...HALLELUJAH! that gives me time to go to a mechanic...so i turn around go to the mechanic to find that he is not open yet...so i wait patiently (ok maybe not so patiently...but it was a good effort) he finally comes in McDonalds bag in hand...he puts his stuff down and walks over to my car...he tugs at the window for awhile and concludes that it needs a new part...ok i'm alright with that if my window will just go up. he takes my number then tapes my darling dent up with a trashbag (my car insists on being ghetto) and i drive to school only to get a phone call from him saying that with the part/labor/taxes it will be $300 to fix it...alright well considering i just paid $230 to fix the switch for the blinkers and windshield wipers...$300 is not really in my price range.
dad's advice is "you just need a new car." well thanks, if i had a full time job i could maybe afford that but since i don't...you know it's not really an option.
alright Lord...i'm ready for an answer.
i know that there are so many more things that could be wrong...so i am thankful for all that is in my life and i am thankful that my car runs and that i have a job to go to...but sometimes, just sometimes i wonder what it will be like when i don't have to deal with this stuff.
i am just in need right now of a strength that can not come from me. it's in these times when i feel so small...but i know that the Lord is so big...
